Ahmet Acar is the former rector of the Middle East Technical University (METU). Teaching in various subjects like strategic management and business policies, quantitative decision tools, and entrepreneurial and small business management, Mr. Acar was appointed as the rector of ODTÜ in 2008 and in 2012. He has also served as the vice-chancellor of the Department of Business, chancellor of the School of Business and Management, and as founding rector of ODTÜ’s Northern Cyprus campus. Mr. Acar continues to offer training and consultation services to many organizations in a variety of sectors. Having completed his bachelor degree in ODTÜ’s Department of City and Regional Planning, Mr. Acar has a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and Economics, and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
