Cemal Tanil Kucuk was born in Zonguldak in 1956. Following his high school education at Lycée de Saint Benoit, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law. Mr. Kucuk became a member of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Assembly first in 1981. He was elected for the Board membership in 1993 and served as the Deputy Chairman of the Board between 1997-2001. He was elected as the Chairman of the Board in 2001. He was reelected for a second term in 2005 and for a third term in 2009. He was the Board member of the Foundation of Istanbul Chamber of Industry Between 1996-2002. Since May 2007, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the same Foundation. He also served in the Economic Development Foundation (IKV) as a Board member and a delegate in the General Assembly between1995-1999. Since 1996 he is a delegate of the General Assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), he was the head of the Industrial Council of TOBB between2005-2009 and in May 2009 he was elected as one the Deputy Chairmen of TOBB. Mr. Kucuk is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elit Chocolate and Confectionery Company and he is married with a daughter.
