Solmaz Ünaydın is a retired diplomat who has most recently served as the Ambassador to Japan from 2003 to 2007. Earlier in her career, Ms. Ünaydin served as Councillor at the Permanent Mission of Turkey to the U.N. in New York, as the head of Political Planning Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Ambassador to Sweden and Ambassador to Poland. After her retirement Ms Ünaydın served as the President of the Publicity Committee of EXPO 2015 Izmir. She was the President of the Culture, Arts and Communications Committee of DEIK Turkish-Japan Business Council. Ms. Solmaz Ünaydın received her BA and MA in International Relations and International Economics at Bryn Mawr College
