GRF Young Scholars & Young Scholars Abroad Seminars
First Part of 2015 Term
The first part of GRF Young Scholars Seminars, the program for Turkish undergraduate students from the prominent universities of Turkey and the world, took place on May 22-24, 2015 at the Koç University Istinye Campus. During the sessions led by GRF Vice-Chairman and President Memduh Karakullukçu, the discussions were based on the articles written by leading academics and intellectuals of the world, and were held with the active as well as sustained participation of the students.
During the other sessions, GRF Members; Ambassador (R) and Former Undersecretary of State in charge of Turkish National Intelligence Sönmez Köksal, Director of the Education Reform Initiative and Former Rector of Boğaziçi University Prof. Üstün Ergüder, Ambassador (R) Ünal Çeviköz, Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and President of the Global Civics Academy Hakan Altınay gave presentations and shared their assessments respectively on “40 Years of Experience in Bureaucracy”, “Higher Education in the Turkish Political Climate”, “Turkish Foreign Policy between 2008-2015 and an Overview of Current Foreign Policy Issues” and “Illiberalism”.
