The Second Part of 2014 Term

The second part of GRF Young Scholars Abroad 2014, the seminar program for Turkish undergraduates currently studying at leading universities across the world, took place on December 24-26, 2014 at Koç University’s İstinye Campus. During the seminars led by GRF Vice-Chairman and President Memduh Karakullukçu, GRF members Sönmez Köksal, Ambassador (R), Former Undersecretary of State in charge of Turkish National Intelligence; Prof. Selçuk Esenbel, Professor of History at Boğaziçi University, and Emre Kurttepeli, the Founding Chairman of Mynet Group gave presentations and shared their assessments respectively on “40 Years of Experience in Bureaucracy”, “Turkey and Asia in the Global 21st Century” and “Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century”. Additionally, panel discussions of four books, namely “Homo Economicus: The (Lost) Prophet of Modern Times” by Daniel Cohen, “Breaking Democracy’s Spell” by John Dunn, “Making in America: From Innovation to Market” by Suzanne Berger and “The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies” by Erik Brynjolfsson & Andrew McAfee, were held with the participation of the Young Scholars.
