Second Meeting
July 2, 2022
The first meeting of the 2022-2023 term of the GRF Young Professionals Program, which aims to provide a platform for young professionals who are equipped with the resolve, background, and experience to contribute to the future of Turkey and the world, were held on July 2, 2022 at Koç Pera.
The meeting’s first presentation was about the uses of the CRISPR-Cas9 technology, widely used in gene sequencing and therapy. The participants examined how this technology could shape societal dynamics and create ethical problems in the event of its more widespread adoption by the general public.
In the second presentation, focused on the human decision-making process, the participants focused on identifying the various cognitive and environmental factors that can cause inconsistent or erroneous decision-making, particularly within business, medical and legal fields. Discussions were shaped around different approaches that can minimize the effects of these factors.
