On December 19, 2024, Prof. Kishore Mahbubani, President of the United Nations Security Council (F), addressed GRF Members during a dinner held in Divan İstanbul Hotel. In his speech, Prof. Mahbubani evaluated the shifting power balances between major powers, and shared his insights on how diplomacy can be brought back to the forefront to resolve major ongoing conflicts and existing disputes in the international system. In this context, Prof. Mahbubani also highlighted the role diplomacy can play in creating structures that respect each countries’ interests while addressing new global challenges. Following his speech, Prof. Mahbubani answered the participants’ questions.
