Dinner with Sir Peter Westmacott,
Former Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Turkey

On June 29, 2016, Former Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Turkey, Sir Peter Westmacott, addressed GRF members and a group of GRF Community members at a dinner held at the Yapı Kredi Yeniköy Grove. In his speech, Sir Westmacott addressed the UK referendum on EU membership, focusing on its causes and consequences. He then argued that the UK and the EU ought to move past the initial shock of the referendum’s result, and establish a new modus vivendi based on cooperation, as it is in the best interest of both. Finally, Sir Westmacott evaluated the current state of the EU-Turkey relationship. Following his speech, Sir Westmacott received a wide range of questions from the participants.
