On March 15, 2016, The Rt Hon Lord Browne of Ladyton (Des Browne), Chair of the European Leadership Network, UK Defence Secretary (F) and Labor Party MP (F), addressed GRF members and a group of GRF Community members at a luncheon held at the Divan Hotel. In his speech, Lord Browne first assessed the current state of the EU – Russia relations in light of the developments in Crimea. He then shared his views on the potential role of the EU in the Middle East within the context of the United States’ shifting attention towards the Pacific. After elaborating on the EU’s concerns regarding security issues and the refugee crisis, Lord Browne received a wide range of questions from the participants.
