Roundtable Meeting
"Istanbul, Urbanization and Sustainability"

On June 29, 2012, Mr. Kadir Topbaş, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and President of United Cities and Local Governments (UCGL) convened with GRF members, Siemens AG Board Members and a group of Young Scholars at a GRF Roundtable meeting organized in in collaboration with our corporate member Siemens A.Ş.. During “Istanbul, Urbanization and Sustainability” meeting, Mr. Kadir Topbaş and Dr. Roland Busch, Member of Siemens AG Board shared their assessments respectively on public measures and corporate policies in relation to sustainability.  Last but not least, Prof. Dr. Nuran Zeren Gülersoy, Director of ITU Urban and Environmental Planning and Research Center, presented an academic perspective on various aspects of sustainability. Following their presentations, the guest speakers received a wide range of questions from GRF members, GRF Young Scholars and other participants.
