On March 15, 2024, Julie A. Eadeh, U.S. Consul General in Istanbul, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at a roundtable meeting at the Kaleseramik Corporate Office. In her speech examining the US - Turkish bilateral relations following the ratification of Sweden for NATO membership, Ms. Eadeh reaffirmed the importance of the U.S.’ relationship with Ankara in a number of critical areas such as Black Sea and Middle East security, as well as international trade. Stating that the timing could not be better in taking advantage of this window of opportunity in the bilateral relationship, Ms. Eadeh stressed the need for increased dialogue, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation in order to strengthen ties in the face of global instability. Following her speech, Ms. Eadeh answered the participants’ questions.
