Mr. Martin Raiser, Country Director for Turkey of the World Bank, convened with GRF “Global Trade and Turkey in the 21st Century” Task Force members and a group of Young Scholars at a Roundtable on June 9th. Mr. Raiser gave a detailed overview of the recent report “Evaluation of the EU-Turkey Customs Union” prepared by the World Bank Turkey Office. During his speech Martin Raiser addressed that Customs Union has unfulfilled potential and also that the arrangement would bring gains for Turkey, if reformed and deepened. Following his speech, Mr. Raiser received a wide range of questions from the participants.
