Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, Ambassador (R) Ertuğrul Apakan convened with GRF members at a roundtable on March 16 to discuss the current situation in Ukraine. Ambassador Apakan shared his observations with GRF members and provided a chronological account of the events that built up to the crisis. After elaborating on the OSCE mission mandate and the organization’s activities in the region, Ambassador Apakan ended the presentation with his views on the geostrategic implications of the developments in Ukraine for the Black Sea region. Following his presentation, Ambassador Apakan received a wide range of questions and comments from the participants.
