On February 3, 2017, Ambassador Burak Akçapar, Director General for Policy Planning at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Former Ambassador to India (2009-2016), addressed GRF members at a roundtable meeting. During his speech entitled “Turkish-Indian Relations within the Framework of Turkey’s Pivot to Asia,” Ambassador Akçapar shared his insights on Asia’s prevalence in Turkish foreign policy. The Ambassador then evaluated India’s role in the global economy and international politics, underscoring Turkey’s need for effective policymaking vis-a-vis a dynamic and systemically influential actor like India. Following his speech, the Ambassador answered the participants’ questions.
