On October 12, 2023, Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, Founding Director of TEPAV; Bahar Güçlü, Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Trade; and Bengisu Özenç, Director of Sürdürülebilir Ekonomi ve Finans Araştırmaları Derneği (SEFiA), addressed GRF and guests at a panel meeting entitled “The Effects of Green Transformation on Turkey’s Industrial and Trade Policies” in Divan Çukurhan Hotel, Ankara.
Moderated by Ambassador (R) Bozkurt Aran, Former Permanent Representative of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Director of Trade Studies at TEPAV, the panel meeting was a part of GRF’s “Geopolitics of Green Transformation and Turkey” Task Force, co-chaired by Ambassador (R) Aran and Canan Ediboğlu, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors at ING Bank. The panelists examined the current green transformation policies instituted by leading global actors such as the European Union, and its reflections on Turkey’s industrial and trade policies. Offering insights and guidence regarding the current situation and roadmap for Turkey’s place in the green transformation process, the panelists then answered the participants’ questions.
Following the panel event, the participants attended a reception with representatives from various embassies, the private sector, and civil society organizations.
