GRF Member, Prof. Selçuk Esenbel, Professor of History at Boğaziçi University has received the “Georg Forster Research Award”.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has bestowed its inaugural Georg Forster Research Award upon four outstanding researchers from developing or industrializing countries who have gained international recognition.
Prof. Esenbel received the award to fund a six-month period of teaching and research at Jacobs University starting in January 2014. During her time at Jacobs University, Prof. Esenbel will foster the interconnection between German and Turkish scientists in her field. She was nominated for the award by Dominic Sachsenmaier, Professor of Modern Asian History at Jacobs University.
