On June 14, 2017, Mr. Cengiz Ultav, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technology Development Foundation of Turkey, and Executive Board Member of Vestel Ventures, addressed GRF and GRF community members at a roundtable meeting. In his speech Mr. Ultav elaborated on the social and economic changes generated by recent technological developments. He then highlighted that the current system would not allow a universal and inclusive model for sharing the benefits of new technologies. Mr. Cengiz Ultav noted that a new model based on sharing economy, nestedness, data and design could help remedy this shortcoming. Mr. Ultav finally noted that Turkey could secure its place in the new economy by binding new technologies with local capacities. Following his speech, Mr. Ultav answered the participants’ questions.
