On November 19, 2020, EBRD Managing Director for Turkey Arvid Tuerkner and EBRD Lead Regional Economist Roger Kelly, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. Discussing sustainable ways towards post-COVID-19 economic recovery, Mr. Tuerkner and Mr. Kelly stated the importance of energy-based economic projects for Turkey. Mr. Kelly detailed the sectoral effects of COVID-19 and examined the long-term sustainability of EBRD economies’ responses to the pandemic. Stating that EBRD’s current priorities are on post-pandemic renewable energy projects, Mr. Tuerkner stressed Turkey’s importance as a partner to EBRD with regards to private sector investments. Following their speeches, Mr. Tuerkner and Mr. Kelly answered the participants’ questions.
