GRF Diplomacy Seminars
2022 Program
October 8-9-10, 2022
The inaugural meeting of the GRF Diplomacy Seminars program, designed to bring undergraduate and graduate-level students together with experienced academics and practitioners in the field of diplomacy in order to facilitate discussion and debate of international matters, took place in October 8-9-10, 2022.
The topics covered throughout the seminars were discussed under the themes of "Regional Developments", "The Multipolar World" and "Multilateral Diplomacy & International Organizations". The participants split into groups at the end of each day in order to analyze a range of current political matters, and develop policy suggestions on how best to address it.
The final session of the program was focused on presenting these policy suggestions, compiling them into a comprehensive report.
In addition to the aforementioned discussions, the program also allowed for guest speakers such as Ambassador (R) Ahmet Üzümcü, Former Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and Ambassador (R) Yaşar Yakış, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, to adress the participants interested in a career in the diplomatic field about their experiences. Following the introduction of GRF Community Programs by the GRF team, Ambassador (R) Selim Yenel, President of GRF presented the participants with certificates for successfully completing the seminar program.
