On December 19, 2019, Ambassador Erdoğan İşcan, Committee Member of the United Nations Committee Against Torture, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at a roundtable meeting. In his speech entitled “International Law of Human Rights and Current Challenges”, Ambassador İşcan examined the mechanisms and importance of human rights laws. Detailing the contemporary challenges faced by the legal system on issues related to human rights, Ambassador İşcan stated that the politicization of the law and populism have had corrosive effects on our shared rules-based legal system. Following his speech, Ambassador İşcan answered the participants’ questions.
