On February 16, 2021, Burcu Tuzcu Ersin, LL.M Partner at Moroğlu Arseven, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. In her speech on the value of data within digital economies and data protection laws, Mrs. Tuzcu Ersin shared with the participants how data protection laws have developed over the years and the current global trends regarding data protection. Explaining how private companies like WhatsApp and Facebook are responding to the recent loss in public trust on the issue of privacy, Mrs. Tuzcu Ersin positioned Turkey within the China-US-EU data protection regulatory triangle. Following her speech, Mrs. Tuzcu Ersin answered the participants’ questions.
