GRF Global Trade and Turkey in the 21st Century
Task Force Report Ankara Launch

The Global Relations Forum (GRF) Task Force Report on “Global Trade and Turkey in the 21st Century” has been presented to GRF members, esteemed officials and related experts at the Ankara launch meeting on April 26, 2019.
During the meeting, the Task Force Co-Chairs Ambassador (F) Bozkurt Aran and Undersecretary for the State Planning Organization (F) Ali Tigrel; Professor of Economics at Bilkent University Dr. Fatma Taşkın and Raporteur of the Task Force Group, Director of TEPAV G20 Studies Center Dr. Sait Akman each shared with the participants the latest developments in global trade and their assessments concerning the Task Force Report.
The Task Force Report discusses economic trends in a period where the role of international trade in the global economy is being re-evaluated, and makes suggestions concerning Turkey’s long term policy choices. The report also prioritizes the issues expected to emerge in the creation of new forms of trade agreements, and argues that Turkey needs to prepare for an international order focused on the international trade of services and where new forms of trade agreements will shape the flow of trade.
