“Towards a Net Zero Future”

Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB) hosted GRF’s “Towards a Net Zero Future” panel discussion on June 9, 2023.

In the panel, GRF Young Scholars Program Graduate Nazlı Azergün, Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB) Deputy General Manager Meral Murathan, EBRD Green Economy Transition Department Manager Bahar Ubay Güçlüsoy, Arçelik Senior Director of Quality, Sustainability & Corporate Affairs Fatih Özkadı met GRF members, GRF Community members and guests. TÜSİAD High Advisory Council Member and Marsh McLennan Group Chairperson Tayfun Bayazıt moderated the panel discussion.

The panelists emphasized the importance of implementing the concepts of Environmental, Social, and Governance in companies in an interactive way by drawing attention to the coordination between the civil society, the private sector, and the public sector in Turkey’s green transformation planning. In this vein, speakers underlined that joint action development should always be on the agenda for the long-term implementation of sustainability goals at the national and international levels on the basis of inclusiveness. The panelists also stated that the coordination process would gain momentum with the private sector’s access to the funds mediating green transformation, which will pave the way for greater transparency in the financial processes of companies due to the criteria of the green funds.
