On November 4, 2021, Aysu Uygur, Strategy Officer for Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. In her speech on forming an effective health strategy when facing global pandemics, Ms. Uygur shared with the participants what health experts have learned from fighting malaria and other tropical diseases. Stating that international cooperation is critical to fighting these outbreaks, Ms. Uygur stressed the importance of a long-term health policy with a large scope. Following her speech, Ms. Uygur answered the participants’ questions.
