The Global Relations Forum Special Reports Committee on “Automation, the Evolution of Labor Markets, the Sustainability of Social Stability” completed its work and presented its GRF Special Report to GRF and GRF Community members, alongside members of the press, at the launch meeting on Januay 7, 2020.
During the meeting, President & CEO of Kale Group Zeynep Bodur Okyay; Professor of Economics at Middle East Technical University Erol Taymaz; McKinsey & Company Country Director Can Kendi; Linktera Managing Partner Taşkın Aksoy and GRF Committee Director Burcu Baran Türem, each shared with the participants their assessments on the report.
The GRF Special Report assesses the multi-faceted, complex and contemporary topic of automation technologies, and their effects on social life and labor markets. It aims to act as a synthesis of conceptual frameworks on discussions surrounding automation. The report makes a number of educational, industrial and capacity-building suggestions based on the expected short-term effects of automation. Finally, in order to ensure meaningful and vibrant public discussion, the report also touches on some of the more long-term concepts related to the issue. To view the report, please click here.
