Global Relations Forum and Ankara Policy Center Panel Meeting
"Rising China and Global Competition"

On May 2, 2023, Prof. Seriye Sezen, Professor of International Relations at Ankara University; Dr. Ümit Alperen, Lecturer at Süleyman Demirel University; Dr. Emre Demir, Lecturer at TED University, and GRF member Dr. Tolga Bilener, Asistant Professor of International Relations at Galatasaray University, addressed GRF and Ankara Policy Center members at a panel entitled "Rising China and Global Competition" at an online meeting.
Following the opening speeches of GRF President Ambassador (R) Selim Yenel and APM Chairperson Ambassador (R) Fatih Ceylan, the panel meeting moderated by Journalist Afşin Yurdakul, evaluated the foreign and domestic policies of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from different perspectives in the context of China’s relationship with the international system. The panel evaluated that the US strives to establish an international alliance based on the dichotomy between democracy and autocracy, while China gets closer with different Asian countries in response to US’s coalition building.
