On November 29, 2018, Ms. Zübeyde Arslanoğlu, Ministry of Industry and Technology Head of Department for the Directorate General for R&D Incentives, addressed GRF members at a roundtable meeting. Giving a speech entitled “Digitalization, the Threat of Global Unemployment and Turkey’s Policies to Prepare for the Transition”, Ms. Arslanoğlu examined the issue of the current labor force’s skill incompatibility with the competency requirements of Turkey’s changing job market. Ms. Arslanoğlu listed what the advance economies of the world are doing to address digitalization, and finished her speech detailing the ‘digital road map’ put forward by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Following her speech, Ms. Arslanoğlu answered the participants’ questions.
