On March 8, 2018, Akio Miyajima, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkey, addressed GRF members. In his speech, Ambassador Miyajima drew attention to the history of mutual cooperation between Turkey and Japan, and assessed the major challenges Japan currently faces as the global economic center shifts towards Asia. Elaborating on issues important to Japan like the aging society and the security situation in the East China Sea, Ambassador Miyajima emphasized Japan’s “Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy”. Following his speech, Ambassador Miyajima answered the participants’ questions.
