Roundtable Meeting & Dinner
for the 100th Anniversary of the Beginning of the Treaty of Lausanne Negotiations

On November 3, 2022, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne negoatiations, GRF and the İnönü Foundation held two separate events in Ankara. The first roundtable event took place in Pembe Köşk, graciously hosted by the İnönü Foundation.
Following a speech by Ms. Özden Toker on the history of the house as well as anecdotes from her life, Prof. Seçil Kara Akgün gave a presentation entitled "Thoughts and Anecdotes on the 100th Anniversary of the Lausanne Peace Conference". Following a dinner at Divan Ankara Hotel, the second event took the shape of a panel moderated by GRF President, Ambassador (R) Selim Yenel. The panel participants, researcher Sinan Kuneralp and former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Faruk Loğoğlu, each gave a speech on the importance of the Treaty of Lausanne, the events that took place during the peace conference, and the diplomatic prowess of İsmet İnönü. Underlining that İsmet İnönü’s diplomatic approach to the conference had a defining role in Turkish history, the panelists then answered the participants’ questions.
During the dinner, GRF’s Honorary Chairman, Mr. Rahmi M. Koç, presented a 10 Year Service Award to GRF’s former Executive Director, Nigar Ağaoğulları Yalınkılıç, for her many years of service to Global Relations Forum since its founding.
