On May 20, 2020, Mr. Gideon Rachman, Chief Foreign Affairs Columnist for Financial Times, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. In his speech entitled “Post-Pandemic Populism and Nationalism”, Mr. Rachman how the rising wave of populist movements and governments are dealing with COVID-19, and shared his thoughts on their post-pandemic prospects. Mr. Rachman stated that one of the biggest reasons for the unpredictability of the crisis has been the difference between countries’ citizens to containment measures, and evaluated future scenarios for populist movements in the aftermath of the pandemic. Following his speech, Mr. Rachman answered the participants’ questions.
