On March 1, 2019, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakçı, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, addressed GRF members at a roundtable meeting. Ambassador Kaymakçı gave a speech detailing the seven criteria set for Turkey by the European Union (EU) under the Customs Union framework, and Turkey’s progress in completing said criteria. Analyzing Turkey’s relationship with the EU through the prism of the immigration deal, combatting terrorism and common security, Ambassador Kaymakçı stressed the need to normalize the bilateral relations between Turkey and EU-member countries. Following his speech, Ambassador Kaymakçı answered the participants’ questions.
