Roundtable Meeting with
Sir Adam Thomson,
Director of the European Leadership Network (ELN)

On April 8, 2019, Sir Adam Thomson, Director of the European Leadership Network (ELN) addressed GRF members at a roundtable meeting. In his speech, Sir Adam Thomson addressed the current state of NATO and the reasons for its ongoing importance to European security in its 70th year. Stating that public support remains in favor of NATO, Sir Adam underlined Europe’s continued reliance on NATO for its defensive needs. Reminding that allies do not need to agree on everything in order to uphold their joint defense duties, Sir Adam cautioned against the recent tendency of NATO allies criticizing each other. Following his speech, Sir Adam answered the participants’ questions.
