On September 4, 2020, Rear Admiral (R) Cem Gürdeniz, Founding Director of the Koç University Maritime Forum, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. In his speech, Rear Admiral Gürdeniz assessed the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean sea, and detailed the military and political dimensions of Turkey’s “Blue Homeland” concept. Rear Admiral Gürdeniz stated that Turkey needs an updated maritime structure and stressed the importance of guarding its maritime jurisdiction. Following his speech, Rear Admiral Gürdeniz answered the participants’ questions.
