On January 25, 2021, Dr. Demir Murat Seyrek, Senior Policy Advisor for European Foundation for Democracy, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. In his speech detailing the future of US-EU relations in the new Biden era, Dr. Seyrek stated that despite the EU once again settling into a closer relationship with the Biden administration, several holdover points of contention from the Trump era still continue to exist. Dr. Seyrek foresaw that there will be more coordination between the two powers on foreign policy issues like China and Russia compared to the last four years, and emphasized that the EU will once again become a priority for the Biden administration. Following his speech, Dr. Seyrek answered the participants’ questions.
